Yup. Root canal this afternoon, after getting the tooth abcess cleaned out last Monday. I'll skip the details here for the easily squicked. Let's just say that there are things I would rather do. It was better than doing nothing, though, 'cause abcessed teeth
hurt. A lot. Just the buildup to it before the abcess really blew up pretty-much ruined my birthday last week.
In other not-so-happy news, my father is doing poorly. He was diagnosed with some sort of lung fibrosis last year, and has been on 40% oxygen when resting or exercising since then; between that and the crappy circulation in his legs (product of waiting a bit long to get his hip replaced, I think--he took some nerve damage), he's slowed down a lot, and anytime he gets a cold it goes right into his lungs. My mom is really worried about him.
At least work is going OK, despite a lot of doubt as to what's going on. My former boss is now in another division, I'm still kind-of being the group leader at the tactical level, and the new guy is taking care of the strategic stuff while I watch and learn.
What else? We had a pleasant Christmas,
metesten has started back in grad school part-time, J is learning to drive, and A is now officially a teenager.
So that's that. Things could be better, but they could also be a whole lot worse.
